My research focus during my PhD studies was Injury Epidemiology in Georgia. I am actively involved in the NIH-funded project iCREATE: Increasing Capacity in Research in Eastern Europe. As part of this project, I participated as an experiential learning trainee. I was also a member of the organizational committee for the conferences Injury and Violence Prevention in 2020 and 2021. Additionally, I contributed to the textbook Injury Prevention in the Dimension of Public Health (published in 2019) and am involved in teaching an Injury Prevention course.
I successfully completed the following CITI Program course: Human Research (Curriculum Group) Group 1 – Biomedical – IRB-01 Refresher (Course Learner Group) 1 – Refresher Course, in 2019. The theoretical and practical knowledge I gained through this project, along with the collaboration opportunities it provided, helped me successfully complete my PhD program in Public Health and Epidemiology.
The research results will contribute to a long-term strategy by raising awareness of injury prevention options and can help reduce injury-related death and disability at the national level. The PhD studies results were disseminated in scientific journals, national and international workshops, and conferences, namely:
