iCREATE Project experience

My academic journey was significantly enriched by a one-semester study abroad program provided by iCREATE at the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Political, Administrative, and Communication Sciences at Babes-Bolyai University in Romania. This exchange program offered me a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth. During the semester abroad, I explored public health in a new country and observed how other nations address health challenges. Interacting with students and professionals from diverse backgrounds allowed me to gain fresh perspectives, broadening my understanding of public health and shaping my future goals for work in Georgia.

The academic aspect of the program was both challenging and rewarding. The lessons were well-structured, combining group projects and practical work. The professors were highly professional and always available to assist with any questions, making the learning experience both engaging and valuable. The support from the project team was also instrumental—they were consistently available, answering questions and providing guidance whenever needed.

Overall, studying abroad at Babes-Bolyai University was a pivotal moment in my academic journey. This experience greatly contributed to my development in public health and has prepared me for the next steps in my career.

I gained valuable skills and numerous opportunities for collaboration during my time at the iCREATE Summer School on Injury and Violence Prevention (SCOPE 2024). I learned a great deal from trainers, including experts from other countries, who shared insights into how their nations approach injury and violence prevention. They discussed strategies, interventions, and the challenges they encounter. I also participated in practical workshops, working closely with people from diverse countries.

This experience enhanced my research and teamwork skills, as well as my ability to collaborate with diverse groups—critical competencies for my career in injury and violence prevention.
